What We Do

Rescue

We rescue abandon their pet dogs, injured dogs from street, put it for adoption or do further treatment or send it to shelter if the dog is critically ill and needs long recovery time.

Treatment

Our team attends to on the spot treatment of the needy strays in and around our areas and that includes treatment of maggot infestation, chemo therapy, dressing of wounds, treating for dehydration.

Release

Post treatment/sterilization, the strays are released in their respective locations by verifying their health conditions. We take care of their further treatment for a week so that chances of further cross infections do not happen.

Rehabilitation

Some treatment requires prolong treatment and requires constant monitoring. Due to paucity of space, we bring them to our own house base on the treatment type or send them to paid shelters. Some dogs due to their old age or disability are sometimes handed over to the shelter by giving surrender fees.

Vaccination Drive

Street dogs susceptible to various contagious diseases like rabies, parvovirus, distemper etc. To save them from these deadly diseases, we do annual vaccination for the majority of the strays. Every year we take 4-5 vaccination drives , involving approximately 100 dogs in the sorrounding localities.

Feeding

Most of the strays survive from leftovers/scavenging from dustbins thrown by local food outlets or restaurants. In 2020, pandemic hit the nations and strays were in much distressful condition due to lock down all over. We took responsibilities of feeding 40 strays in our locality. We got help from local people too in this venture. We also on case to case basis extend our help to people with financial/non financial help for feeding.

What do we do?

  • We conduct spay/neuter activities in our nearby localities with the help of various ngo’s.
  • Conduct annual rabies vaccination, DHPPL vaccination
  • Rescue and adoption programs
  • Street animal feeding
  • Currently, we are doing only spot treatment as we lack space and infrastructure.
We ourselves got trained in various treatments and with the guidance of Vet doctor.
  • We also provide financial and material help to persons who independently on with their own , with his/her limited resources take care of the stray dogs and cats in their respective locality.

How we do it?

We got trained ourselves in the basic First AID treatment and help the wounded animals on the spot. Depending on the seriousness of the animal’s condition, we take them to the hospitals as well as to private veterinary clinics. Once the animal is treated, it is either released to the streets or given up for adoption, depending on the circumstances. If the animal is in healthy condition, we coordinate with the local ngo and sterilize the dog and release them in the street.

From 2018, we have sterilized around 250 stray dogs and cats in and around our locality and curbed the population of stray dogs and cats to make it a conducive environment for all in the society. We also do annual vaccination of these strays to protect them from deadly disea

Our goal is to eliminate cruelty towards animals while ensuring a healthy and disease-free society.
